Randy Head-1LOGANSPORT, IN – State Sen. Randy Head (R-Logansport) announced yesterday at the Cass County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner that he is seeking the Republican nomination for Attorney General at the Indiana Republican State Convention in June.

“After careful consideration and lots of encouragement from party leaders, I have decided to seek the Republican nomination for Attorney General at this year’s Republican State Convention,” Head announced to the 150 Republicans gathered at the Cass County 4-H Community Center.

Head, in his second term representing Senate District 18, has been a sought after leader since his election in 2008. Head has partnered with the Attorney General’s office to carry legislation combating human trafficking in Indiana. Head has also worked closely with county prosecutors and law enforcement from around the state to ensure criminals receive proper sentences. Throughout his time in the State Senate, Head has authored legislation to address sex crimes against children, diminish habitual offenders, and to help curb meth production.

“Our next Attorney General needs to be a skilled litigator as well as a legislative negotiator who knows and understands the parties, issues, and avenues by which a State legislative agenda may be accomplished,” Head said. “I believe that my 14 years as a deputy prosecutor, the time I have spent in private law practice, and the work I have done in the State Senate have demonstrated that I am such a candidate.”
