meansMargaret Means, age 83, Lafayette, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospital East, Lafayette.

Born November 22, 1932, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Thompson Stewart.

On May 11, 1952 she was married to Elmer Means, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2007.

Margaret retired as a Qualified Medical Assistant at the Logansport State Hospital.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church, where she was Sunday School Superintendent. Margaret was also a member of the Whole Truth Apostolic Faith Assembly in Lafayette.

She enjoyed working for the Lord.

Surviving are daughters, Debra Means, Catherine Means, Fay Rodgers and Tamie (James) Blackburn, all of Lafayette; sister, Mary Katherine Wilkes, Dayton, OH; uncle, Clarence Cross, Dayton, OH.

Also surviving are grandchildren, James (Lineth) Blackburn II, Megan (Jordon) Oakley, Kindra Rodgers and Evan Rodgers; great grandchildren, Meah Blackburn, James Blackburn III, Jaylyn Blackburn and Malachi Oakley; several nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Eva Marie Means, preceded her in death.

The Home-going Celebration will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Mt. Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church, with Suffragan Bishop Aaron L. Boyd officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, prior to the funeral, also at the Church.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
