Last Updated on April 14, 2016 by cassnetwork

Logansport city officials today heard their first update on the review of proposals for a new purchased power agreement.

Mayor Dave Kitchell, Utility Service Board President Dan Slusser, City Council President Teresa Popejoy and Utility Superintendent Paul Hartman discussed the progress of the evaluation process with representatives of Lewis & Kappes, Indianapolis. The meeting was held via conference call.

“Out of the six proposals we received, there are multiple proposals which meet the criteria set by LMU,” Kitchell said. “Our next meeting will be held April 26, and it will again be via telephone. At this point, we are on schedule and should have a recommendation for the council and board to consider late this summer.”

Among the submitters for the Logansport Municipal Utilities’ PPA are the Indiana Municipal Power Agency, Duke Energy, Southern Energy, Kenergy and Morgan Stanley.
