Fairview Elementary School participated in Bike To School Day on Friday, May 6, 2016.

“We did it last year for the first time and had about 45 students,” Principal Chris Hess said. “This year we almost doubled our participation! It was great fun! And parents and teachers rode with our kids, too. We had great collaboration from the community: Church of the Heartland let us use their parking lot, as did Main St. United Methodist Church as common meeting places. Each group had a police escort to and from school, then those that participated were treated to a pancake breakfast cooked by chef Officer Danny Farris and teachers!”

Hess said the school plans to participate annually.
