Florence Anna “Flossie” Funk

funk Florence Anna “Flossie” Funk, 100, of Logansport, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born June 24, 1916, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Lola P. (Cook) Sitz.

On July 13, 1954, in Kokomo, she was married to the late Vernon Funk.

Flossie was a homemaker and farm wife. A most faithful lady who loved Jesus with all her heart, she was a member of the Bible Holiness Church. In earlier years, she taught Sunday School. Flossie composed poetry and music, including a song as a testimony of her faith entitled, “The Lord Lead You.” She had a very loving heart and was always there to help her family and friends.

Flossie was part of the Miller’s Merry Manor family for many years. She made many friends during that time and appreciated those who visited her there. Her family would like to thank the caring staff for the love they extended to her.

She is survived by one nephew, Ron (Pam) Lytle of Logansport; one niece, Toni Wildermuth of Logansport; and dear friends Tery and Gary Scott of Logansport.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gordon Funk; one daughter, Joy Funk; one sister, Adeline Brown; and one brother, William G. Sitz Jr.

A funeral service celebrating Flossie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Pastor David Bigger will officiate.

Burial will be in Spring Creek Christian Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Holiness Church.
