Gladys Knight, 86, of Logansport passed away peacefully with her loving daughter’s by her side at 3:56 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on May 11, 1930, in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Oliverio and Lucinda (Polo) Aguero.
Gladys was a graduate of the American Dominican Academy in Havana and she also attended Virginia Intermont College.
On November 13, 1953, she married Wilbur Knight. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1980.
She retired from Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Ft. Wayne.
Gladys was strong in her faith, she enjoyed attending Mass at Miller’s Merry Manor, playing bingo and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters; Claudia Henderson (Thomas) of Logansport, and Leslie Toepfer (Jeffrey), of Michigan, grandchildren, Alison Mount of New Jersey, Frank Morris (Leslie) of Ohio, Matthew Toepfer of Michigan and Nick Toepfer of Michigan, great grandchildren, Olivia Mount of New Jersey, Isabella Morris, Finley Morris and Levi Morris all of Ohio, step mother, Noema Aguero of Florida, half brothers, Manny Aguero of Florida, Ed Aguero of Florida and nephews, Oliver Aguero and Eric Aguero both of Florida.
She was also preceded in death by brother, Oliverio “Oly” Aguero.
A private family service will be held and burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery in rural Wabash County.
