norrisMary L. Goodner-Norris, 99, of Fulton passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Mary was born on February 25, 1917 in Fulton County, Indiana to the late Noble O. and Vernie (Fry) Goodner. In August of 1996 she married Laurence Norris who preceded in death on August 24, 2008.

Mary was an elementary school teacher at Riddle Elementary School in Rochester for most of her life. She was also a member of the Fulton Baptist Temple where she played the organ for many years.

Surviving her are two sisters, Dorothy Burton, Peoria, AZ; Esther Miller, Rochester; three nephews, Kenny (Barb) Miller, Rochester; Joe (Sharon) Burton, Vienna, VA; Bill Burton, Philadelphia, PA; three nieces, Jean Ann Cooley, Macy, IN; Linda (Dave) Fincher; Penny Duncan, both of Rochester; several great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Vera Goodner; and one brother, Walter Goodner.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fulton Baptist Temple.
