Billy “Bill” D. Neel

Billy “Bill” D. Neel, 82, of Logansport passed away at 9:40 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on June 14, 1934 in Idaville, he was the son on the late Clancy and Flossie (Boller) Neel. He had one brother the late Dr. Robert Gene Neel.

Bill was a 1952 graduate of Idaville High School. He also was a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Teaching.

Bill retired in 1989 after 22 years as a Social Studies Director and Teacher at Pioneer (formerly Royal Center) High School. Bill was selected as State “Teacher of the Year” and received recognition and a plaque from Governor Otis Bowen.

Bill was an avid I.U. basket ball fan, a Colts fan, and was a supporter of Pioneer Football.

Survivors include, Sister-in-Law, Inga Neel of Jackson, Tennessee, nephews; Dr. Sean Neel (Diana) of Jackson, Tennessee, Michael Neel (Karen) of Swanton, Maryland, and Lee Neel (Debi) of West Palm Beach, Florida, niece, Robin Neel Kersey of Pompano Beach, Florida.

He is also survived by 3 grand nephews, and 3 grand nieces.

Visitation will be held at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 2-4 p.m.

A Celebration of Life Service will be private.
