Diana (Yankee) McVay

mcvayDiana  (Yankee) McVay,71, of Lake Cicott, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family.

Born September 8, 1944, in South Bend, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Pauline Gaumer.

On March 15, 1964,  she was married to Max Grandstaff who preceded her in death August 16, 1975. On June 22, 1982, she was married to  Jay McVay, who survives.

A homemaker, Diana loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being a mother means that your heart is no longer yours; it wanders wherever your children go. Diana was always there for her family, putting them first.

Also surviving are her children: Jerry (Joni) Grandstaff of Royal Center, Shari (Mike) Prentice of  Logansport, Shelly (Doug) Fielder of Owosso, Michigan, Bill (Jennifer) Grandstaff of Lake Cicott, Troy (Michelle) McVay of Owosso, Michigan, Missy (Bernie) Sadler of California and an adopted neighbor Ashlea (Bon) Shedron of Lake Cicott; several brothers; seventeen grandchildren: Jeff, Lacie, Alex, Austin, Tanner, Tyler, Macy, Savannah, Everett, Onaleigh, Khloe, Kaydence, Josh, Bethani, Bo, Bailey and Zoe; and four great-grandchildren: Gracie, Emma, Colton and Kenna.

A funeral service celebrating Diana’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m.Thursday, August 11, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Horace Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10 in the funeral chapel.
