Joe R. Kahl

Joe R. Kahl, 67 of Lucerne passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Born on June 19, 1949 in Hammond, IN, he was the son of the late George E. and Roberta E. (Harris) Kahl. On October 14, 1967 in Logansport Joe married Marilyn S. Powell who survives.

Joe was a warranty advisor for Hendrickson Motor Sale in Monticello. He had also worked for Mike Anderson in Logansport.

Joe was a member of Valley Fellowship Church and their men’s group. He was also a member of the MTR Cowboy church in Norman, IN. Joe was a member of the NRA, Indiana Trail Riders, Bill W.’s and was a sponsor of a horse at the Wild Horse Sanctuary in South Dakota. Joe loved fishing, horseback riding, and mushroom hunting. The most important thing to Joe was his family.

Surviving along with his wife Marilyn are three daughters, Lori (Rob) Myers, Logansport; Stacy (Rick) Foster, Walton; Heather Kahl, Monticello; son, A.J. Kahl, Lucerne; brother, Mike (Joanie) Kahl, Burnettsville; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
