vernonDiane Vernon, 77, Carmel, formerly of Logansport, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at her daughter’s residence in Carmel.

Born on July 12, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana she was the daughter of the late John and Lola Claire (Haverstock) Vaughan. On August 25, 1957 in Logansport she married William A. “Bill” Vernon who preceded in death on December 3, 2004.

Diane retired in 2002 after 23 years at Textron Fastening Systems. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving is a son, Christopher Vernon, Avon; three daughters, Leslie (Rick) Ricks, Logansport; Rene (Mark) Kindlesparker; Kaye (Andy) Simmons, both of Carmel; two sisters, Kaye Rogers, Terre Haute; Lainae (Keith) Bussa, Daleville, IN; two granddaughters, two step granddaughters; a step grandson; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley L. and William “Bill” K. Vernon, and one grandson, Steven Tabler.

A private family service was held at Diane’s request on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Logansport.
