James A. “Jimmy” Shearer

James A. “Jimmy” Shearer, 46, of Rochester passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 17, 2016 at his residence.

Born on April 29, 1970 in East Chicago, Indiana, he was the son of James M. and Linda (Poskus) Shearer.

Jimmy was a former member of the Laborers Union Local 41 in Hammond and he also was formerly employed at Topp Industries in Rochester.

He enjoyed living off the land, hunting, fishing and cooking. Jimmy was always helping a friend in need as he had a big heart and loving smile.

Survivors include his daughter, Nichole Hudson (Ethan) of South Bend, father, James M. “Jim” Shearer of Kewanna, brothers, Paul Shearer (Lisa) of Fair Oaks and Todd Shearer (JoEllen) of South Carolina. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda D. Shearer.

A Celebration of Jimmy’s Life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Lake Bruce Garage/Community Hall with Pastor Steve Miller officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.
