Edsel C. Prouty

Edsel Clayton Prouty, 70, Logansport, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., in his residence.

Born in Logansport on March 20, 1946, he was the son of Robert E. and Zella Leona Ness Prouty.

He was married on October 29, 1976, to Maureen Elizabeth Gale, who survives.  They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

Edsel had been retired for several years from various local factories.

A 1964 graduate of Logansport High School, he was also a graduate of Purdue University.  Edsel was also a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Hillcrest Baptist Church.

In his younger years, Edsel was involved in several sporting activities, including scuba diving, sky diving, a Jeep enthusiast, and riding his motorcycle all over the United States.

In recent years, Edsel was involved in magic and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians.

Also surviving are his four-legged daughter, Molly; sister, Cynthia Prouty, Logansport; mother-in-law, Marolyn Gale, Logansport; brother-in-law, Rex (Rose) Gale, Portage; sister-in-law, Jeannie Gale, Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.

The service will be at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with Pastor Brandon Hudson officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to A Cause for Paws, Hillcrest Baptist Church, or American Diabetes Association.
