Edward James (Jim) Hayes

Edward James (“Jim”) Hayes, 79, died at Woodbridge Health Campus on October 20, 2016.

The son of Lorena (Senn) and Edward B. Hayes, Jim was born in Logansport, on December 29, 1936.

After graduating from St. Vincent de Paul grade school and  Logansport High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and a master’s degree from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.

After teaching in high schools in Bloomington, Twelve Mile, and  Oneonta, New York, the major portion of his educational career was spent in  Batesville, Indiana, where he taught English and directed student theatre  productions.  After teaching for over 33 years, he retired in Logansport.

Jim is survived by many cousins, friends and former students.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 29, at All Saints Church, 9:00-9:45 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. John Ford, CSC and Fr. Dominic Petan.

Burial will be at St. Joseph’s West Cemetery in Pulaski.
