On October 4, 1941, in Logansport, she was married to Woodrow Hammon, who survives in Logansport.
A homemaker, Dorothy was a member of the River of Life Christian Church. She was also a member of the Royal Center Chapter No. 375 Order of Eastern Star.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing and had made many outfits for family members over the years. She was also an excellent cook and loved to fix big dinners for family and church events.
Surviving with her husband of 75 years are one daughter, Sondra (Lloyd) Ulerick, of Rochester; one son, James Hammon (Kathy Turner), of Logansport; one sister-in-law, Wilma Neff, of Florida; two grandchildren, Susan Cline (Reggie Hall) and Karen (Harry) Batson; three great-grandchildren, Damen Batson, Darian Batson and Robert Kite; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by son John Hammon, brother Jim Neff; and one granddaughter, Sharon Ulerick.
A funeral service celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. when the Eastern Star service will be conducted just prior to the funeral.
