joybrownJoy D. Brown, 92, of Logansport, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 in Woodbridge Health Campus.

She was born on July 4, 1924 in Valparaiso.  She was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Gloor) Freer.

On December 1, 1941, in Valparaiso, she married the late Kenneth Brown Sr. He preceded her in death January 6, 2007.

Joy worked at Switches, as an assembler, for 15 years.

She attended the Fulton Baptist Temple. Joy enjoyed reading and listening to Big Band music.

Surviving are Mary Bullock, of Washington, North Carolina, Patricia Cooper, of Dalton, Georgia, Bertha Cole and her husband William, of Galveston, Vickie Hutsell and her husband Paul, Logansport, and Janet Favors and her husband Rusty, all of Logansport; three sisters; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son Kenneth E. Brown Jr., two granddaughters; one brother and one sister.

Visitation hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service celebrating the life Joy Brown will follow at noon in the funeral chapel with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cass County.
