James “Jim” D. Clear

James “Jim” D. Clear, 75, of Logansport passed away at 10:46 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Born on December 3, 1941, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Clyde T. and Sadie H. (Holcomb) Clear.

Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a paratrooper.

Jim formerly owned and operated Jim Clear Home Improvements for many years and he was a retired carpenter and contractor through Union Local #620 in Kokomo.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #60 & VFW Post #3790.

Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman and mushroom hunter where he loved spending his time outdoors.

Jim was also a musician and spent many years playing in local country bands.

Survivors include sons; Dale Clear (Heather) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Steve Clear of Indianapolis, step-daughter; Kim (Murl)  Waddups of Logansport, companion, Betty Evans of Logansport grandchildren, Cole, Chase and Cara Clear of Murfreesboro, Tucker and Trey Waddups of Logansport and nephew Donnie Clear.

Jim was preceded in death by brother, Robert Clear; sisters, Waunita Hartman and Carolyn Walls; and half brother, John Clear.

Military Rites will be conducted in honor of Jim at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Ever Rest Memorial Park.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.
