Conrad E. Townsend, 85, of Winona Lake, formerly of Twelve Mile passed away peacefully at 1:08 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Grace Village in Winona Lake.

He was born on October 15, 1931 in Wabash.
On May 6, 1961, he married Josephine A. Hines, she survives.

He worked for many years as the Foaling Manager for Town and Country Horse Farms in Florida. Conrad enjoyed reading, horses and studying Abraham Lincoln history.

Conrad was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Townsend of Winona Lake, children, Mark Townsend (Cathy) of Rochester and Nancy Townsend of Ft. Wayne, brother, Wallace Townsend (Carole) of Twelve Mile and step granddaughter, Toni Swartzell of Logansport.

Conrad was preceded in death by infant son, Lincoln Townsend, mother, Beulah (Reed) Vinson and brother, Norman Vinson.

Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial with Military Rites performed will be a Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
