Ruby J. Parker

Ruby J. Parker, 82, of Logansport, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her daughters residence in Logansport.

Born on July 30, 1934 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Murphy and Bonnie Bell (Sibley) Raines.  On May 25, 1988 in Logansport she married Larry G. Parker who survives.

Ruby was retired. She was the former secretary for Logansport Mayors Gene Monahan, Bill Vernon, and John Davis. She was also a hairdresser. Ruby was a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church.

Surviving along with her husband Larry is a daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Jones, Logansport; step daughters, Jody (Don) Cameron, Rochester; Dianne (Richard) Franklin; Missy (John) Shively, both of Logansport; Brenda (John) Field, Twelve Mile; half sister, Patricia Hutchinson, Vicksburg, MS; fourteen grandchildren; twenty- three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Raines; a sister, Gloria Thaman; and a grandson, Nathan Shively.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Kelly Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, also in the funeral home.
