Jessie H. Hines, 89, of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 12:18 a.m., Tuesday, March 07, 2017 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.

Born on August 12, 1927 in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late J. Calvin and Rosa (Manes) MacLain.

She was a Kewanna High School graduate.

Jessie married Cecil E. Hines on August 12, 1927 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2000.

She was a homemaker and farmwife.  Jessie was a member of Thornhope Community Church and she enjoyed gardening, reading and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Judy Sparks (Tim) of Peru and Mark Hines (Cindy) of Royal Center, sisters, Ruth Hart (James) of Plymouth, Emily Brown of Knox and Lawrence MacLain (Mabel) of Kewanna and grandchildren, Chandra Felker (Steve), Charles Hines (Julie), Eric Hines and Aaron Hines (Farrah).  She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son, Cecil E. Hines, Jr. and daughters, Lois Jean Hines and Susan Hines Moss, brothers, Hugh and Clifford MacLain and sisters, Mattie Rainey, Blanche Culver, Roxie Fry, Marilyn Zartman, Flo Conley, Gladys Stutzman and Merle Isaacs.

Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor David Webb officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.

Burial will be at Thompson Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Thornhope Community Church Building Fund.
