Richard E. Brugh

Richard E. Brugh, age 73, Logansport, passed away at 10:52 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born August 20, 1943, in Logansport, he was the son of Milton and Mary Lena Finton Brugh.

He was married on November 22, 1993, to Nita Vitello, who survives.

Dick retired from the Logansport Fire Department in 1987 after twenty years of service. He then retired from Deichman Excavating.

He was a U. S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a life member of both the American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790.

Dick was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

A 1962 graduate of Logansport High School, Dick was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed flowers, gardening and especially his dog, “J.J.”

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Dale Brugh and Darren Brugh; step-daughters, Kimberly Trainer and Dana Santori; brothers, Patrick Brugh, John (Marie) Brugh and Thomas “Wayne” (Janet) Brugh; sister, Kathy (Rod) Harper; granddaughter, Alexis Coleman; great grandson, Aiden Coleman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A sister, Debra Brugh, preceded him in death.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Dominic Petan officiating.

Interment, with full military honors, will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery. Members of the Logansport Fire Department will serve as pallberarers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society, 700 Water Street, Logansport 46947. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
