Eric Monroe Shaver

Eric Monroe Shaver, 53, Logansport, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Monday, April 10, 2017, from an apparent heart attack.

Born May 18, 1963, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Arthur A. and  Frances (Reinhardt) Shaver.  His mother survives in Kouts, Indiana.

Following his 1981 graduation from Caston High School, Eric enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Eric was employed at Kauffman Engineering.  He was a devoted Chicago Bears fan.  He also loved watching the IU Hoosiers play basketball.

Surviving with his mother are one sister, Cynthia Shaver of Logansport; three nephews: Joshua Lewis of Murfeesboro, TN, and Joel Lewis and Jacob Markely, both of Logansport; a young man who was like a nephew, Matt Swisher, of Rochester; a great-niece, Raylynn Lewis and great-nephews: Cayden Lewis and Waylon and Fletcher Swisher.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Military honors will be accorded at a 7 p.m. ceremony followed by a funeral service celebrating Eric’s life will be held on Thursday, April 13 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.  John Birky will officiate at the service.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday.

Burial, at a later date, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
