Evelyn Augusta Ranges Joyner, 97, of Monticello and formerly of Ft. Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully at 3 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.
Born on February 25, 1920 in New Britain, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ernstine Molzan Ranges. On January 23, 1943, she married Ernest Joyner, Jr. who preceded her in death April 23, 1992.

Evelyn was a 1937 graduate of New Britain High School.

She worked in the banking industry, and retired from the Deep River Savings Bank in Clinton, Connecticut.

Evelyn enjoyed travel, camping, cards and games. She was an active member of the Dancing Sunflowers line dancing group in Ft. Pierce, Florida through her late 80s.

Survivors include her daughters, Denise (David) Charles of Monticello, Indiana; and Susan (Dennis) Enix of Leesburg, Florida; grandchildren Laurie (Cary) Bowman of Indianapolis; Julie (David) Ramey of Martinsville, Indiana; Kristie Charles of Bloomington, Indiana; and Adam Charles of Monticello, Indiana. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Erica Bowman, Jeff Ramey, Mikayla Nagl, and Tessa Charles; a niece, and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Margaret Ranges Sorrow, and a niece.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, April 30 from 4-6 p.m. at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home. A service officiated by Reverend Charles Blakey of St. James Lutheran Church will take place at 5:45 p.m.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds, Indiana.
