James R. “Jim” Zepik

James R. “Jim” Zepik, 74, of Kewanna formerly of Michigan City, passed away unexpectedly at 2:10 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017 at I.U. Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on February 13, 1943 in New Buffalo, Michigan, he was the son of the late Bill and Loretta (Hildebrand) Zepik.

Jim graduated from New Buffalo Schools in 1962. He also attended Southwest Michigan College.

In 1990, he met the love of his lifeand soul mate Merry E. Vore. The two were married on March 10, 1990. She survives.

Jim was a truck driver and also worked in construction for many years. While working construction, he took part in the building of the Epcot Ball at Disney.

Jim had many friends, he never met a stranger.  He also enjoyed model cars and go carts, working on cars, both body work and motor. He liked to travel and visit flea markets. Jim loved people and enjoyed doing many things that involved spending time with people. He will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Merry Zepik of Kewanna, brother, Ronald Zepik (Sally) of Michigan City, sister, Darlene Kear (Michael) of Ft. Wayne, step son, Albie Vore (Tiffany) of Corydon, Indiana and 2 step grandchildren, Madison Vore and Cody Vore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no services.
