May Brown

May Brown, 78, of Logansport, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Born February 7, 1939 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Pauline (Scott) Wade.

May worked as an assembler at White Rogers for many years before her retirement. May was a caregiver to several families through out her life. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

A gifted gardener, May especially loved growing flowers. She enjoyed making and collecting dolls and was a member of “Dolls Unlimited”. May was an excellent seamstress.  She enjoyed playing Bingo. Attending the Miami County Fair and watching her grandchildren show livestock was something May cherished. Most importantly, May loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are two sons, James (Heidi) Brown of Indianapolis and John (Rose) Brown of Peru; one brother, Oliver (Gemma Marble) Wade of Reno, NV; four sisters, Nancy (Jon) Berry of Royal Center, Dorothy (Galen) Shultz of Earl Park, Mary Jane (John) Petersen of Lewisville, NC and Olive (Howard) Kopp of San Diego, CA.; four grandchildren, Zachary (Allison), Bailee, Curtis, and Eric Brown; and one great-grandchild, Dylan Brown.

She was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Judy Lane.

A funeral service celebrating the life of May Brown will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Timothy Berlin officiating.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 23 in the funeral chapel and one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Burial, at a later date, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
