John B. Moon

John B. Moon, age 78, Logansport, passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, in Logansport surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 19, 1939, in Logansport, he was the son of John and Agnes Rogers Moon.

On July 4, 2002, in Logansport, he was married to Karen Farrer, who survives.

John was a retired Maintenance of Way Supervisor for Conrail.

John enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, birdwatching and hunting. He was an all-around avid outdoorsman. In later years he concentrated on the hobby of photography with many beautiful examples in his collection.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, John D. (Toni) Moon, Winterset, Iowa, Roxanne Galbreath, Logansport; sisters, Connie Sturgeon, Kay Leazenby, both of Walton; brother, Jim (Janet) Moon, LaRida, Fla.; step-children, Tracy (Kraig) Burns, Denver, IN, Angela (Tony) Corn, Lucerne, Danielle Heishman, Kokomo, and Cory (Jason) Ulrick, Walton.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Christopher “Cowboy” Galbreath, Shane Galbreath (Amy Johnson), Steven Galbreath, Kirk B. Moon; step-grandchildren, Aubrey Burns, Kaitlyn Burns, Jayce Burns, Max (Allison) Grey, Trent (McKenzie) Ulrick; brother-in-law, Marv Hamilton, Onward; several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; sisters-in-law, Vicki McKinney, Anita Allan and Connie (Jim) Smith.

Preceding in death are his mother and step-father, Agnes and Jesse Hartman, father, John Moon, sisters, Phyllis Michael, Shirley Vanderbilt, Virginia Alderson, Jeri Hamilton, and nephew, Ernest Kloenne.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 31st, in Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, also in Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Burial will then follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Cass County.
