At a finance committee meeting on Wednesday, March 28, members of the Logansport City Council heard an update from Bill Cuppy with the Cass-Logansport Economic Development Organization, who says two local companies are planning expansions. Cuppy detailed investments of $2.2 million by Myers Spring and $4.64 million by Matthew-Warren. Myers Spring would add 10 jobs while Matthew-Warren would add 15. The next step is for the council, which meets on Monday, to vote on abatement requests. Cuppy also gave the finance committee an update on the status of the former Marsh Supermarkets. He said that there are 4 viable projects for Marsh on 14th Street, and he’s shown the building several times, but is waiting for information from the building’s current owner in New York City. He said there is also an offer on the 3rd Street property that he described as being in the “due diligence” period.
