Robert E. “Bob” Hubeny

Bob HubenyRobert E. “Bob” Hubeny, 87, of Kewanna passed away peacefully at 3:30 a.m., Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born August 1, 1930 in Fulton County, he was the son of the late James and Kathryn (Peters) Hubeny.

Bob was a 1948 Kewanna High School graduate.

On February 22, 1952 he married Alma L. Rhinehart. She survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former member of the Kewanna Volunteer Fire Dept. where he served as Assistant Fire Chief. He was also a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Bob enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. He was also an avid reader.

He formerly owned and operated Hubeny’s Sunoco Service Station in Kewanna for many years. Bob also was a school bus driver for Kewanna and Caston schools.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Hubeny of Logansport, daughters, Linda S. Martin (Neal) of Plainfield, Michael L. Hubeny of Denver, Jeffrey S. Hubeny (Martha) of California and Beth A.Foster (Ned) of Colorado, 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Boarman (Mike), Ryan Martin (Laurie), Kyle Martin (Susan), Ross Martin, Shannon Napier (Jonah), Rebecca Hubeny, Katherine Hubeny and great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Sophia, Lillianna and Luke.

He is preceded in death by one son, Robert C. Hubeny and brothers, Charles Hubeny and James Hubeny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Kewanna with Father Mike McKinney officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel.

Burial with Military Rites will be performed at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Winamac.
