Ruth A. Talbott

Ruth A. Talbott, 92, of Kewanna passed away at 2:15 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2018 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

Born August 18, 1926 in Kewanna, she was the daughter of the late Herbert F. and Goldie H. (Woolington) Hamman.

Ruth was a 1945 Kewanna High School graduate.

On August 9, 1946, she married Simon B. Talbott. He preceded in death on April 26, 1983.

Ruth formerly worked at Winamac Coil Spring in Kewanna for over 25 years. She was also a cook at the Kewanna School cafeteria.

She was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the V.F.W. Post #1121 in Kewanna that is named in honor of her late son, James F. Talbott, a U.S. Army veteran who died while serving in Vietnam.

Ruth was an avid Cubs and Colts fan. Her favorite quarterback being Peyton Manning. She was known for her great cooking.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Evans (Charlie) of Junction City, Kansas and Nancy Bowyer of Kewanna, companion, Raymond Engle of Kewanna and his children, Terry Engle of Sebring, Florida and Sherry Engle Anderson (John) of Kewanna, grandchildren, Stacy Evans of Junction City, Kansas, Jimmy Bowyer of Kewanna, and Timmy Bowyer (Lacy) of Cicero, great grandchildren, Gavin Evans, Daxton Wilcox both of Junction City, Kansas, Illiana Bowyer, Royce Bowyer, Kinsley Bowyer all of Cicero and brother, Ron Hamman of Kewanna. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by son’s James F. Talbott and Tommy Talbott, sisters, Lucille Newcomer, Ginger Good, and Betty Selle Frazie and brothers, Bud Hamman, Ralph Hamman, Bob Hamman, and Billy Dean Hamman and grandson, Ryan Evans.

Services for Ruth will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory, Kewanna Chapel.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the funeral home where there will be a V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Citizens IOOF Cemetery in Kewanna at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kewanna United Methodist Church.

The family has requested to come in casual attire in memory of Ruth.
