Lawrence E. MacLain

Lawrence E. MacLain, age 80 of Kewanna, passed away unexpectedly at 7:55 a.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his residence.

Lawrence attended Kewanna High School.

 Born February 16, 1938 in Kewanna, hewas the son of the late Joseph Calvin and Rosa Nelle (Manes) MacLain.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., serving from 1956-1958.

 On May 20, 1958, he was married toMabel Shidler of Thornhope at Sharon Church at Bruce Lake Station. She survives.

 Lawrence retired from Dean Food Co. inRochester after 21 years.

He cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with family and friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs. Lawrence also enjoyed riding his bicycle around town.

 Survivors include his wife, MabelMacLain of Kewanna, daughters, Delores Jones (David) of Mt.Washington, KY. and Carol Garrison (Gerry) of Elizabeth, IN., sons,Steve MacLain of Kewanna and Jeff MacLain (Tommy) of Diamond Head,MS., grandchildren, Justin and Derek Jones of Mt. Washington, KY.,Brent Basham (Katie) of Leitchfield, KY., Bryce Basham ofLeitchfield, KY., Brayton MacLain of Kokomo, Maddy MacLain ofRochester, Andy and Jenna Bratcher of Leitchfield, KY. and Robert and Brettney Basham of Hudson, KY. and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Ruth Hart (James) of Plymouth and Emily Brown ofKnox.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers,Hugh and Clifford MacLain and 8 sisters, Mattie Rainey, Blanche Culver, Roxie Fry, Marilyn Zartman, Flo Conley, Gladys Stutzman, Merle Isaacs and Jessie Hines.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel with Rev. David Webb officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19 at the funeral home.

 Burial with Military Rites performed will be at Bruce Lake Cemetery.
