David J. Cover, 67, Logansport, passed away at 12:53 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019, in Chase Center.
Born March 8, 1951, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Cover. On June 14, 1974, he was united in marriage to Myra “Marty” (Gunter) Cover, who survives. A 1969 graduate of Logansport High School, David went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For over 10 years, David worked at Pro-xis in Lafayette as a laser operator and a CNC operator. David was a member of the Rehoboth Church. A member of the Twelve Mile Gun Club, David enjoyed guns and re-loading bullets. He loved being outdoors – especially target practicing and fishing. He also enjoyed watching Westerns on TV.
Surviving with his wife are four children: Scott (Kimberly) Cover, Lafayette, Daniel (Brittany Pong) Cover, Riverbank, CA, Matthew (Sarah) Cover, Dayton, IN, and Jeremy (Nikki) Cover, Plainfield, IN; one brother, Christopher Cover, Logansport; one sister, Sandra (Chuck) Wise, Monticello; three grandchildren, Preston Cover, Jessica and Kaylyn Cover; and three-great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service celebrating David’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick Conrad officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the start of the service. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. prior to Thursday’s service in the funeral chapel.
