Betty J. McKaig

Betty J. McKaig, 100, of Logansport, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the McKinney House in Logansport.

Born on August 14, 1918 in Cass County, Indiana, she is the daughter to the late James E. and Laura (Bechdol) Martin. On June 19, 1944 in Port Orford, Oregon, she married Edward E. McKaig who preceded in death on July 22, 1995.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church. Betty taught piano for many years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the United Methodist Women and Literacy Group.

Surviving are three sons, Edward E. (Janice) McKaig Jr. of Logansport, IN, Robert E. (Sandra) McKaig of Logansport, IN, Roger M. (Linda) McKaig of Logansport, IN; two daughters, Maureen (Ron) Cook of Peru, IN, Patty (Ron) Collins of Morgantown, IN; brother, Hobart Martin of Plymouth, IN; Fifteen Grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle) McKaig, Mark (Tanya) McKaig, Christy (Paul) Rupert, Angela (Jeff) Brooke, Darren (Sarah) McKaig, Marie (Kent) Kohlhagen, Kelley McKaig, Abbie McKaig, Suzie McKaig, Daniel McKaig, Esther McKaig, Holly (Andy) Tyler, Andrew (Carlee) Cook, Randy Collins, Jaci (Matt ) Beecher; 24 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Webb Chapel United Methodist Church. A private burial will be held in the Shiloh Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Webb Chapel United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the services on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Webb Chapel United Methodist Church Missions Fund or the Cass County 4-H Memorial Scholarship Fund.
