Robert E. Tribbett

Robert E. Tribbett, 97 of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on October 8, 1921 in Rockfield, Indiana, he is the son to the late Clarence and Mattie (Campbell) Tribbett. Bob was a 1939 graduate of Burnettsville High School. On June 27, 1942 in Cass County, he married Nellie L. Roller who preceded him in death on July 25, 2008.

Bob served in the US Army, 832 Signal Service Corps, in Brisbane, Australia from September 1942 until November 1945 as a radio teletype operator. After serving his country, Bob worked as the manager at the Logansport Elevator for 55 years. He retired in 2003. He was a member of Webb United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, water sports and spending time with his family.

Surviving are two sons, Robert D. Tribbett of Monticello, IN; Donald J. (Connie) Tribbett of Logansport, IN,; two granddaughters, Kristen (Joe) Alkire of Greensboro, NC, Jessica Louise Tribbett, New York City; two grandsons, Matthew (Jessica ) Tribbett of Greensboro, NC; David (Kristin) Tribbett of Louisville, KY; 6-Great Grandchildren and one on the way.

Preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers and a grandson, Daniel Tribbett.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Eckert officiating. Burial, with full military rites, will follow in Mt Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, May 13, 2019, also at the Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Webb Chapel United Methodist Church building fund.
