Robert A. “Bob” Minnick, 71,of Logansport, passed away at 7:51 a.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019, in Franciscan Hospital, Lafayette, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 24, 1948, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Joseph R. Minnick Jr. and Marie E. (Baade) Minnick

On August 22, 1971, in Logansport, he was married to Ingrid (Berglund) Minnick, who survives.

Following his 1966 graduation from Washington Township High School, Bob served in the Indiana National Guard for seven years.

Bob was a life-long farmer in Washington Township, living on and working the land that has been in his family since the early 1900’s.

His faith was the foundation of his life. Bob’s membership in the River of Life Christian Church was not in name only, he was a devoted servant of God and held the roles of elder, trustee and deacon. He also loved reading Joel Osteen’s devotionals.

Bob enjoyed fishing. He and Ingrid loved walking together. Bob wore the title of “Grandpa” with great pride. A tenure 4-H member and sports enthusiast himself, Bob loved finding a spot on the bleachers and watching his grandkids shine.

Surviving with his wife, Ingrid, of 48 years are two children and their spouses, Dan and Lisa Minnick and Angie and Kevin Crook, all of Logansport; one brother, Ronald (Joanne) Minnick, Murfreesboro, TN; one sister, Lou Ann (Tom) Doty, Gloucester, VA; six grandchildren, Mallory, Morgan, Matthew and Jacob Minnick, and Caleb and Chloe Crook; four step-grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Hintz, Jamie Spence, David Spence and Emma Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kasia Minnick.

A Funeral Service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Betsy Arnold officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends will be received from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
