Vickie L. Galbreath

Vickie L. Galbreath, 57, of Winamac passed away at 9:27 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 3, 1961 in Rochester, she was the daughter of Donald E. and Delores “Dee” Galbreath.

Vickie was a 1980 Winamac High School graduate. While in high school she displayed her love for music by playing trombone in the band, and because of her musical appreciation the Galbreath Scholarship for music students was created. In recent years, Vickie had been expanding her abilities by teaching herself to play violin using online videos. She also had a great love for animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses.

She always loved to learn and attended several colleges including Butler University, Valparaiso University, Ivy Tech where she gained a degree in auto mechanics, and Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis where she earned a degree in computer technology.

Vickie was a member of the First Christian Church in Winamac.

Survivors include her father, Donald E. Galbreath of Winamac, brother, Stephen Galbreath (Deborah) of Plymouth, companion, Scott Richardson of Monticello, nephews Doug (Wendy) Galbreath of Topeka, IN, David (Sheila) Galbreath, of Beavercreek, OH, Greg (Sara) Galbreath of Sturgis, MI, great-nephews Aidan, Logan, and Evan Galbreath and great-niece Faith Galbreath.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores “Dee” Galbreath and sister, Rhonda Galbreath.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, McKinley Addition.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in Winamac.
