Claribel (Longbons) McIntire

Claribel (Longbons) McIntire, 82, of Logansport passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel.

Born on January 9, 1937 in Albion, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Baxley) Longbons.

She was a 1957 graduate of Edwards High School, Albion, Illinois.

On December 21, 1958, she married Dale McIntire in Royal Center. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1979.

Claribel retired in 1997 from BTR (General Tire). She attended All Saints Catholic Church and was a Past President of Diversified General Credit Union. Claribel was also a member of the UAW Steelworkers of America and her hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Clara Dalene McMillen (John) of Logansport, Johnie Leon McIntire (Carol) of Logansport, Dr. Donald Joy McIntire (Beth) of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Brooke McMillen-Patz (Eric), Dr. Brock McMillen (Sabrina), Libby McIntire-Plankenhorn (Dr. David), Gabby McIntire-Thomas (Sean), Alex McIntire, Bailey McIntire-Scott (Justin), Katherine McIntire and Ian McIntire, great grandchildren, Madelyn McMillen, Caroline Patz, Jackson McMillen, John Patz, Greyson McMillen, Eli Plankenhorn, and Audrey Patz, brothers in law, Phillip McIntire (Mary Ann) and Richard McIntire (Judy). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Claribel was preceded in death by her son, Edward Leroy McIntire, great grandson, Garth Thomas, 3 brothers and two sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Jeff Martin officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and All Saints Catholic Church.
