Louise Carter, 88, of West Lafayette formerly of Lucerne passed away at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus in West Lafayette.

Born on October 19, 1931 in Barren County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Houchens) Furlong.

On September 13, 1981 she married Virgil E. Carter, he preceded her in death on December 24, 2001.

She was a retired home care employee and homemaker.

Louise was a member of Lucerne Christian Church.

Survivors include her children, Ronald Carter (Linda) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Donald Carter (Kana) of Indianapolis and Larry Carter (Lynda) of West Lafayette, brother, Howard Furlong (Corine) of Smith Grove, Kentucky, sisters, Agnes Jones of Glasgow, Kentucky, Noxie Beatty of Smith Grove, Kentucky and Elaine Lawrence (Michael) of Smith Grove, Kentucky, grandchildren, Todd Carter (Amy) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Justin Carter (Heather) of Atlanta, Georgia,  and Tara Carter of Lafayette.  She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death sister, Twyla Lawrence and Wanda Smith.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucerne Christian Church and/or Hillcrest Baptist Church.
