Melissa S. Sparks, age 36, Royal Center, passed away unexpectedly at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at Memorial Hospital.

Born February 23, 1983, in Auburn, Indiana, she was the daughter of Joseph R. and Pamela R. Burelison Sparks. Her father and step-mother, Diana Sparks survive, residing in Warsaw.

Melissa spent her formative years in South Whitley and Warsaw and attended school there. She loved to care for her family and took pride in her food preservation skills. She enjoyed shopping and cooking with fresh vegetables.

Melissa was a member of the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed attending regularly.

Surviving is her life partner, Lucas Conrad, Royal Center; daughters, Kaylie Conrad, Felicity Conrad, Lavender Conrad, Jade Conrad, Basil Conrad; sons, Phinnias Conrad and Isaiah Sparks; brother, Ryan Sparks; grandson, Gabriel Xavier Santana; grandmothers, Elaine Sparks, Barbara Burelison; several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are Luke’s father, James Conrad; brothers, James Conrad III (Heather) and Joseph Conrad.

Preceding in death were her mother, Pamela R. Sparks; grandfathers, Max Sparks and Charles Burelison; Luke’s mother, Jane Conrad and sister, Nicole Conrad.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31st, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Allen officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
