Glenda Sue Harris

Glenda Sue Harris, 73, of Monticello, formerly of Logansport, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family at 2:10 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020, in her residence.

Born October 1, 1946 in Parkdale, Arkansas, she was one of ten children of Elma and Katie Romines Vaughan.

Surviving are sisters, Janelda Tveten, Colorado, Oneida Phillopovich, New Mexico; brothers, Spence Vaughan and Lewis (Marlena) Vaughan all of Logansport, Anthony Vaughan, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Janet Vaughan.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Alieta McEntire, Ruby Tietbohl; and brothers, James Vaughan and Butch Vaughan.

On September 19, 1970, she married Stephen Dale Harris in Logansport, Indiana, at Helm Street Church of God, where she was part of a woman’s group, “The SONshine Girls”. The group were very supportive of doing God’s work in the community. She was a dedicated, hard worker of the group who was well-loved.

Sue had worked previously at Carrico Furniture, Brookpark-Royalon Inc., TM Morris and Zoubul’s Restaurant. She worked the last 35 years as a landlord, managing what has now accumulated to 156 rental properties owned by her and her husband in Logansport.

Surviving are four daughters, Kathy (Randy) Myers, Logansport, Sandy (Bill) Strik Walton, Angie Mucker (Fiancée Ronnie Hawkins), Logansport, and Elizabeth (Mike) Donnelly Logansport.

She was loved by her grandchildren, Natasha (Josh) Ploss, Lindsey (Donny) Martin, Alisha (Brandon) Byers, Marisha Rigle, Cassie Hallam, Heather (Ty) Rowan, Mikayla Strik, Johnny Strik, Braxton Mucker, Payton Mucker, Darcie Donnelly, Braden Donnelly, and Abby Donnelly; and by fourteen great grandchildren.

Two sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren and one great grandchild preceded in her death.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Buddy and Penny Grigsby, also Lance and Cherri Anderson for being such wonderful friends and for helping care for Sue.

Viewing will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10th, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Horace Smith officiating. Friends and family may visit for an hour prior to the service.

A private burial will be at a later date at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
