Robert A. Helderman Jr., 60, of Logansport, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, surrounded by his family at Community Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo.
Born on June 20, 1959 in Riverside, California, he was the son of the late Robert A. Helderman, Sr. and Delle E. (Cummings) Helderman, who survives.
On April 23, 1996, he was married to Judith Helderman, who survives.
Robert was proud to be a lineman at QC Communications. He had helped start up the business alongside his good friend, Mark Holland.
He was a strong but gentle soul – a simple man who loved his family. Robert had a love for NASCAR, football, the 49’ers, and Western films starring John Wayne. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving with his mother, Delle, and his wife of 23 years, Judith, are three sons, Robert “Tre” A. Helderman III, Eli Helderman, Jacob (Megan) Helderman; two daughters, Rachel (Matthew) Ervin, and Jordan (Jake) Ulery; two sisters, Jeanne Murray and Cynthia (Monte)Ray; eleven grandchildren, Rayvyn, Tarryn, Payge, Ryder, Melonie, Barrett, Lyrrynn, JC, Liam, Owen and Malachi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Helderman and his father Robert A. Helderman Sr.
A Funeral Service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service in the funeral chapel.
