Fred D. Ploss, 82, of Royal Center passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2020 at his home.

Born on September 29, 1937 in White County, he was the son of the late Walter and Ellen (Turnipseed) Ploss.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

On August 31, 1963 he married Susie Maxwell.

Fred retired in 1990 from Exide in Logansport and he also drove school bus for Pioneer for over 20 years. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, watching his granddaughters play softball for Pioneer and playing poker.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Ploss of Royal Center, son, Donald Ploss (Tammy) of Star City, daughter, Donna Grandstaff of Logansport, brothers, George Ploss (Bonnie) of Michigan and Oscar Ploss (Betty) of Monticello, sister, Lucille Smith of Idaville, grandchildren, Brook Shaffer (Travis), Stephanie Ballina (Frankie) and Chris Williamson and great grandchildren, Madyson and Aubrey Shaffer and Alexandria Ballina.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by sister, Delores Roth.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
