Amidst the Corona Virus COVID-19 closures, the Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that Logansport city parks will remain open.  Sanitizing procedures will be instituted to help reduce the spread of the Corona Virus.

At the beginning of each day, staff members will use a spray disinfectant on all picnic tables, benches, & playgrounds.  As restrooms open this spring, along with the regular daily cleaning, a spray disinfectant will be applied on all restroom surfaces.  (The opening date of the restrooms is now mid-April, but may be changed.)

At Dykeman Park Municipal Golf Course, all golf carts will be sanitized following each use.  Restrooms in the clubhouse will be sprayed with disinfectant regularly, along with door handles, tables, chairs, & countertops.  On the course, the flag sticks and ball washers will be cleaned and wiped down with disinfectant twice daily.

Indoor facilities which include the McHale Complex, the Penman Service Center, and the Welcome Center, will all be disinfected prior to and following a private rental of those facilities.

The public is reminded that even though the Parks Staff will be vigilant in keeping facilities & equipment disinfected, someone with the virus may still contaminate the equipment prior to your use.  The public should still take responsibility for their own personal environment, and personally sanitize the equipment they wish to utilize.

Those with questions may contact the Logansport Park & Recreation office at 574-753-6969 or parksinfo@cityoflogansport.org for further clarification.
