Indiana under “Stay at Home Order”; ORANGE TRAVEL WATCH in effect for Cass County, Indiana

SOME KEY POINTS:

Governor Eric Holcomb has issued a “Stay at Home Order” in effect from March 24 at 11:59 p.m. through May 1, 2020.

A public health emergency has been declared in Logansport and Cass County effective April 27, 2020. Find more info about additional restrictions in place here.

  • Cass County is under an ORANGE travel watch as of March 20, 2020. Check Indiana’s county travel status map here.
  • During a “watch” local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.
  • All County offices will be closed to the public until further notice with the exception of the courts. Admission to the court system will be for Defendants and legal representatives only. All defendants are to appear as ordered.
  • County employees will still be at work to answer phone calls and conduct business by phone. Please check for online ways to conduct business as well. The county’s website is co.cass.in.us.

Here is the message released by the Cass County Commissioners on March 20, 2020:

Cass County,

We have entered a time where we do not have history to go on to make decisions. This is a time where tough decisions have to be made.

With that being said the Cass County Commissioners are passing a resolution of emergency for the county.

Resolution 20-06. This emergency will be reviewed every 7 days until lifted. This is an evolving situation.

The county will immediately be going to an orange warning level. Orange is the intermediate level-Travel should be for work and emergencies only.  Travel should be from work, humanitarian needs (ex. food) and emergency travel.  Public events and schools should be closed, business and factories should be evaluating if they can close.

All County offices will be closed to the public until further notice with the exception of the courts. Admission to the court system will be for Defendants and legal representatives only. All defendants are to appear as ordered.

County employees will still be at work to answer phone calls and conduct business by phone. Please check for online ways to conduct business as well. CDC Guidelines and Governors resolution-20-04 shall be followed.
