Mildred Kinzie

Mildred Olive Kinzie, 74, of Logansport, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Friday, August 21, 2020.

Born April 6, 1946, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Tomlinson) Martindale.

On July 14, 1976, in Logansport, she was married to MEldon Kinzie, who survives.

Mildred enjoyed working together with her husband in their family business, Kinzie’s Surplus. Even as she battled cancer, her enthusiasm and work ethic remained strong.

She was a member of the Refuge Worship Center.

Surviving with her husband of 44 years are sons, Vincent Edward (Lori) Brooks Kokomo, IN, Gerald Eugene (Carrie) Wyoming, Darrell Lee (Cecilia) Kinzie San Juan CA, and Russell Allen Kinzie, Logansport, four brothers, George (Carol) Martindale, Virgil (Linda) Martindale, Joseph (Cecilia) Martindale, and Jim (Brenda) Martindale, sister, Kay Malott (Jeff Henderson), sister-in-law, Linda Martindale; three grandchildren, Mallori Brooks, Savanna Brooks, and Calvin Eugene Kinzie.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Martindale, and Homer Martindale; and four sisters, Gertrude Thomas, Stella Delts, Donna Woodard, and Bessie Martindale.

A Funeral Service celebrating Mildred’s life will be held at 10a.m. on Tuesday, August 25th at Refuge Worship Center in Logansport with Pastor David Payton officiating.

A visitation will be held Monday August 24th, from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Thornhope Cemetery near Star City.
