Elsie “Sandie” Ernest, 71, of Logansport passed away at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on August 29, 1949, in Panama City, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Walker) Drake.

On August 29, 1967, she married the love of her life, Arnold D. Ernest.  They were married for 46 years until his death on November 28, 2013.

Survivors include her sons, Keith C. Ernest (Donnetta) of Winamac and Michael J. Ernest (Maggie) of Noblesville.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Madilynn and Hunter Conley of Winamac and Jacob, Madeline, Andrew, Charles and Maxwell Ernest, all of Noblesville.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, being active in her sorority, Alpha Phi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.  Sandie had a marvelous sense of humor and loved to laugh.  She would do just about anything for anyone, especially those in need.  She was an amazing person and someone to admire. 

Her best friends were Kim Long and Kay Kline.  They were the 3 Musketeers. 

Sandie was a retired administrative assistant at Dental Plus in Logansport. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport with Pastor Norm Snyder officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery where she and her husband, Arnold will be laid to rest.
