David W. Long

David W. Long, 85, of Royal Center passed away at 3:48 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Millers Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on August 13, 1935 in Sleeper, Missouri, he was the son of the late Herby and Ala (Thomson) Long.

He was a 1952 graduate of Sparta High School in Illinois and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Philippines.

On March 5, 1981, he married Kay Snyder Lower. She survives.

David retired from Nipsco where he had been field operator at the Royal Center Plant. 

Survivors include his wife, Kay Long of Royal Center, daughter, Pam Stark of Florida, step-sons, Greg Lower (Rhonda) of Star City and Randy Lower (Christy) of Lafayette, step-daughter, Casandra Barrett (Kenny) of Florida, brothers, Robert Long of Missouri and Richard Long of Arizona. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by daughter, Janet Long, son, Patrick Long and brothers, Alvin Long, Floyd Long, and Herb Long.

Private graveside services will be held at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.
