John L. Harper

John L. Harper, 91, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in the Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born January 21, 1929, he was the son of the late John Henry and Helen Louise (Ross) Harper.

On August 17, 1952, in Logansport, John was married to Louanna (Lantz) Harper, who survives.

John served in the Indiana National Guard for eight years.

After 35 years of employment, John retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company where he had worked as a production worker

John was very artistic when it came to wood burning, beading and craftwork. Over the years, he enjoyed making handmade gift items for family and friends.

Surviving with his wife of 68 years, are his daughter, Laura (Roy) Kruger, Logansport; his son, Rod (Kathy) Harper, of Kokomo; two sisters, Martha Lou Smith and Ruth Ann Sterns, five grandchildren, Scott Harper, Brad Harper, Eric Harper, Holley Zimmerman, and John Newton; and twelve great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by one son,William J. Harper; one daughter, Brenda E. Harper; and one brother, Donald Harper.

A Funeral Service celebrating John’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020, in Fisher Funeral Chapel,

Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday in the funeral chapel. Masks and social distancing are requested.
