Kathaleen  F. “Kathy” Scott, 74, Logansport, passed away at 2:55 a.m., on Thursday, October 1, 2020, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, surrounded by her family.

Born on September 29, 1946 in Logansport, she was the daughter of John J. and Bettie (McPherson) Savini.

On December 23, 1966, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Logansport, she was married to John R, Scott, Sr., who survives.

As a young woman, Kathy worked as a clerk at The Golden Rule Department Store in Logansport, then went on for many years working as a teacher’s aide at Daniel Webster Elementary School.  Kathy began her lifelong career as an Administrative Assistant for the Logansport Parks and Recreation Department on July 30, 1990, and retired 27 years later on June 30, 2017.

She enjoyed working for the community of Logansport. She loved her job and enjoyed volunteering for all the park programs for the kids and families. Kathy was recognized for her contribution to the community and for her achievements on June 29, 2018, as “The Citizen of the Week”. She really enjoyed being around people and spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathy enjoyed dining out with friends, going to NASCAR races and car shows with her husband, attending to all her grandkids’ school activities, having pool parties, and attending family reunions.

Kathy was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport.

Surviving along with her husband, John, are two children, John R. (Heather) Scott Jr., Kokomo, and Kris MacLain, Kokomo; mother, Bettie Savini, Logansport; sister, Pam (Rob) Altice, Temecula, California; brother, John J. (Carol) Savini Jr., Cobden, Illinois; brother-in-law, Tim Holcomb, Logansport; and grandchildren, Brayton MacLain, Miley Scott, Cheyenne Parmeter and Calryan Parmeter.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, John J. Savini Sr. and sister, Carolyn J. Holcomb.

A Celebration of Life for Kathy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October  6th.  at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Gustavo Lopez officiating.

Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Monday at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful staff of Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport, and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Thank you for all the thoughtfulness and kindness you provided for Kathy.
