Myra J. Gray

Myra J. Gray, 92 Lake Cicott, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, in Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born February 20, 1928, in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine (Caughall) Stuart.

On January 30, 1948, in Logansport, she was married to Eugene Gray. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.

Myra was retired from Valley Tool & Die where she had worked for over twenty years.

A homemaker, Myra was blessed with a large family and a wonderful sense of humor, making their home ring with laughter. She was a member of the Lake Cicott United Methodist Church. She enjoyed line dancing at the Senior Center and going out to eat with the friends she made there. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening and growing flowers. Myra kept her mind busy with all sorts of puzzles – crosswords, word searches, sudoku – she was as sharp as a tack. Her full-time job was being the family matriarch and keeping her family in line, which was also the greatest joy in her life.

Myra is survived by five children: Michael (Helen) Gray, Logansport, Cathy (Bill) Harness, Galveston, Joe (Pat) Gray, Lake Cicott, Donald (Koren) Gray, Thorntown, and Betsy Gray, Kokomo; daughter-in-law, Diane Gray, West Lafayette; one half-sister, Debra Stuart, Logansport; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, John; four brothers, Tom, Don, Monte, and Stanley Stuart; one sister, Jean Stuart; one half-brother, Steve Stuart;.

A Memorial Service celebrating Myra’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 22 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Adam Speicher officiating.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service in the funeral chapel.

Interment, at a later date, will be in Davis Cemetery.
