Patricia A. Baker

Patricia A. Baker, 79 of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East in Lafayette.

Born on September 11, 1941 in Logansport, she is the daughter to the late Clyde and Matilda (McGuire) Pifer. On September 21, 1957 in Logansport, she married Darl Raymond Baker who preceded in death on January 31, 2007.

Pat attended Logansport High School. She was known by many names, her family called her Patty, aunt Pat and grandma, her bowling friends called her “mama Pat” and her Legion Rider friends called her “buck 98” ($1.98), although she went by many names, the consensus by all is that she will be greatly missed.

Pat was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. She rode with her husband Darl who also shared the same enthusiasm. After Darl’s passing she continued to ride behind her children, Cheryl and Ron. She was a proud member of the American Legion Riders and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Pat was also known for her cooking, she owned and operated “Bakers Family Restaurant” now known as “Bullshippers”. The restaurant allowed her to do what she loved while passing along her recipes along to her children.

Pat loved to bowl, she participated in traveling and local leagues around the area. Again, she always made sure to pass her passions onto her children, as they too enjoy bowling to this day.

Surviving are her two children, Cheryl Baker of Logansport and Ron Baker of Flora; two granddaughters, Dawn (Danny) Smith of Kokomo; Katelynn Baker of Kokomo; four great grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph (Hilda) Reed, Kokomo; Robert (Alicia) Pifer, Royal Center; Michael (Dolores) Pifer, Cold Spring, TX; Donald (Misty) Pifer, Sandwich, IL; sister, Nancy Pifer of Oxford, NC.

She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lee Baker; and two sisters, Shirley and Judy Pifer.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory with Bob Pifer officiating. Burial will follow at McNeely Cemetery, near Lewisburg, IN.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2020 also in the funeral home.
